Trailer for Fair Game, starring Naomi Watts and Sean Penn

I've seen some really amazing trailers over the last few days, but this is by far my favorite. Fair Game is based on the book Fair Game: My Life as a Spy, My Betrayal by the White House, by Valerie Plame. If you'll recall, she was outed as a CIA agent by members of the Bush Administration as payback for her husband's op-ed claiming that the Iraq War intelligence we had been using was manipulated.  The role of her husband, Joe Wilson, is being played by Sean Penn.

The film was directed by The Bourne Identity's Doug Liman, and it's clear that the trailer is trying to give the impression that the two are similarly styled. I've heard otherwise, and that this is less action heavy and much more a political pot boiler. That's fine with me. The last time Naomi Watts and Sean Penn were together was in 2003's 21 Grams, a film which I still don't think gets the credit it deserves. Is there a more perfect actress to play the strong, gorgeous, and intelligent Plame than Naomi Watts? I don't think so.

So I'm stoked for this one. In fact, maybe I'll make an entire day of it. Fair Game, then I'll re-watch Green Zone, and maybe conclude with The Pat Tillman Story. I think when the DVDs for all three of those flicks comes out I might work on making that happen.

Fair Game is set to be released on November 5th, 2010. Check out the trailer below!
