Say au voir to everybody's favorite foul smelling heroic ogre. Dreamworks has released details on the upcoming 4th film in the beloved Shrek franchise, along with a few photos as well. The big news is that the film, titled Shrek Forever After, will be the last of the series. Of course it will continue on in some form through spinoffs, like the upcoming Puss in Boots.
Shrek Forever After is set to be released in May, 2010.
Personally, I stopped being a fan of Shrek after the 2nd film, but it's weird to see a profitable franchise like this ending so soon. I think it's a load of crap, actually, and probably a ploy to make this film seem more special than it really is. What is more likely is that they will take a break for a few years before bringing the band back together, so to speak.
