Olivia Munn: Avenger?

Last month we had a post about Attack of the Show's buxom co-host, Olivia Munn, regarding her role in Iron Man 2. At one time she was slotted for a small, fairly unimportant part, but according to her interview with Complex Magazine, that had changed. She would now be playing an established character from the Marvel Universe, but she neglected to say who that character was. I don't blame her. I wouldn't risk losing a prime gig like that just to break a little news.

The questioned exactly who the heck she'd be playing. Iron Man has a plethora of female characters hovering around his world, most notably the Avenger known as the Scarlet Witch, and also one of his primary enemies, Madam Masque. Forces of Geek was told recently that Munn is set to play founding member of the Avengers Janet Van Dyne better known as The Wasp. That hasn't been confirmed, so it's basically just speculation at this point.

If Munn turns out to be either the Scarlet Witch or The Wasp, it'd be particularly important because it would all but lock her in to have a pivotal role in the upcoming Avengers film, and would obviously be a huge career boost for her. I don't think poor Kevin Pereira will be able to keep up and will be relegated to dressing up as Wonder Woman himself from now on.  Like earlier noted, there are a ton of women in Tony Stark's circle, so Munn might be playing a superhero or just one of his exes who might cause him a bit of grief. We'll just have to wait and see.

You can currently see Olivia Munn everyday on G4's Attack of the Show, and in theaters as a bitter restaurant hostess in Steve Carell and Tina Fey's comedy, Date Night.
