X-men First Class Rumors: Rosamund Pike and Amber Heard in Talks

Just last week a rumor made it's way around that Rosamund Pike(An Education) had been spotted with Matthew Vaughn's casting agent carrying a copy of the Emma Frost: Origins comic book. This led to speculation that she was in the running to play Frost in Vaughn's X-men: First Class film. Turns out this might've been premature, as The Playlist has stated that 20th Century Fox is indeed interested in Pike, but to play Professor Xavier's longtime colleague and love interest, Moira MacTaggert.  Oliva Williams(Rushmore)  played MacTaggert briefly in X-Men: The Last Stand.

They also state that Fox is looking towards Amber Heard(The Stepfather) to take on the role of a young Mystique, the shapeshifting villainess played by Rebecca Romijn in the previous X-men movies.

I like both actresses a lot. My main worry with Pike as Emma Frost was that she might be a touch too old. Taking on MacTaggert, an older character, resolves this issue but now I'm concerned she doesn't have the right look. That could all change, of course.  Heard has the raw sexuality for the part, so lets hope this happens.
