The thought of Brett Ratner getting within a football field's distance of any Greek or Roman myth sends a chill up my spine. Even something like the story of Hercules(or Heracles, take your pick), which has been the subject of some of the worst movie evah(Hercules in New York, anyone?), deserves to have a forcefield of protection around it against Ratner's touch. Unfortunately, Ratner appears to be the man to bring the prince of power back to the big screen for the first time since 1997's animated Hercules from Disney.
Ratner is in final talks to direct the film for Millennium/Nu Image, the same group currently bringing Conan back to theaters. Ratner had actually been up to direct that film as well, but lost out to Marcus Nispel.
Well, at least he's not trying to adapt the Illiad or something.
