Confirmed: Urban will don the helmet of Judge Dredd

A few weeks ago it was rumored that Karl Urban(Star Trek) had been offered the role of Judge Dredd in an upcoming reboot, directed by Pete Travis. Now we have confirmation, coming from producers Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich. Shooting is scheduled to begin in Johannesburg, South Africa in the coming weeks.

Hey, good to see urban cashing in on Star Trek's success. The guy's on fire right now, with the Bruce Willis starring Red next on his list. He'll also be featured in the religious themed action film, Priest, starring Paul Bettany in May of 2011.
