Green Lantern Update

Over the weekend, DC Comics creative chief Geoff Johns tweeted that production on Martin Campbell's Green Lantern film has finally wrapped up shooting in New Orleans after 100 days. That's a lot of jambalaya. Supposedly there's still some additional post-production work being done, but as of now it looks like DC can start prepping for the big June 17th, 2011 release date.

Or they can get hard at work on the sequel.  With rumors already flying around that Warner Brothers was going to pull an LOTR-style attack and film the Green Lantern sequels back-to-back with hopes of releasing a film each of the next three years, now they've gone ahead and hired a writer to begin the process. Michael Goldenberg, who is one of the screenwriters on Green Lantern, has been hired to script the sequel which if all goes as planned will be released some time in 2012.
