Luc Besson(
The Professional
) is going back to the
Taken well once again, this time throwing the kidnapped daughter routine into deep space. He's just signed Guy Pearce to star in th outer space thriller about a wrongly convicted man offered a chance at redemption if he can rescue the president's daughter from an interstellar prison that's been taken over by inmates. Guess who the daughter is? Maggie Grace, who played Liam Neeson's kidnapped child in Taken. I wonder if she'll have a slutty best friend who is unceremoniously killed then immediately forgotten about?
The script is being handled by Besson, and is being co-directed by James Mather and Stephen St. Leger(
Prey Alone).
I don't mind Besson essentially making the same film three times in a row(Taken 2 is also on the agenda, co-starring Grace yet again) as long as they're interesting. Pearce brings something totally different to the table than Neeson does, enough to set this one apart just a little bit.
