* Jeffrey Dean Morgan(
The Losers
,
Watchmen
) is set to star in The Courier, the next film from acclaimed director Hany Abu-Assad. Abu-Assad's last film, Paradise Now, was a critical fave and one of my favorites from 2005. The action flick has Morgan starring as a courier who takes on impossible missions and never misses a drop. Kinda sounds like The Transporter, doesn't it?
* Terrence Malick(
Badlands
) may not have a title for his upcoming love story, but he's managed to snag an impressive cast. Already Javier Bardem, Olga Kurylenko and Rachel McAdams are attached to the untitled love story. Christian Bale was aboard as well, but now reports are that he's been replaced by Ben Affleck, who's been seen in and around the filming location. Also signing on is Rachel Weisz. Affleck is reportedly playing a fisherman in the film, but Weisz's role is unknown at this point. Heck, so is the plot.
*Rian Johnson's(
Brick
,
The Brothers Bloom
) upcoming sci-fi film, Looper, has been given the greenlight. Yay!! The Joseph Gordon-Levitt/Bruce Willis starring film will begin shooting in January 2011 with hopes to appear at the following year's Sundance Film Festival. As previously
noted, Looper takes place in the future when time travel is prevalent. Gordon-Levitt plays a killer in the past working for a crime syndicate in the future. His job is to kill those sent back through time by his bosses, but he's forced to go on the run when something goes terribly wrong.
