Trailer Time: Juan of the Dead

That title is not a joke. Juan of the Dead.  It's been a few months since I've heard anything regarding this Cuban-made comedy, which is obviously riffing off Edgar Wright's Shaun of the Dead. Now all of a sudden we've got not just one, but two trailers at the same time. Weird.

The film stars Alexis Diaz de Villegas as a slacker, much like Simon Pegg's Shaun, who realizes that the people in his town are getting a little ugly. And violent. And probably a little bitey. He decides to make a few bucks by agreeing to kill people's infected family members for money. Who says there's no ingenuity during a recession?

Dead is actually a pretty big deal down in Cuba, as it's already one the most expensive films they've ever made at roughly $2.7M. That's right. $2.7M.  Michael Bay spends that much on lunch every week.

No clue when or if it'll hit our shores, and based on these trailers I'm not sure I want it to, but check them out for yourself. Would you pay to see Juan of the Dead if it came out here?
