Deadline has learned that District 9 director Neil Blomkamp is moving ahead with plans for his next flick, a futuristic sci-fi film titled Elysium. Sharlto Copley(The A-Team
) has already been confirmed to star, and similar to District 9 it will involve a lot of sociopolitical ideas along with explosive action. They're quick to point out that this is not a sequel to District 9, which went on to gross over $200M worldwide on a limited budget, also gaining one of the 10 Best Picture nominations at last year's Academy Awards.
