Edgar Ramirez now has more heat behind him than any of his castmates from the movie, Domino. That was the first time I ever saw the Venezuelan actor, in a role that didn't ask him to do a hell of a lot but look like someone Keira Knightley would want to shag. Ramirez has been on fire lately, especially after his critically acclaimed turn as Carlos the Jackal in the film, Carlos(it's 6 hours long, so no I didn't see it!). Now it looks like he'll be adding the role of a Greek god onto his rapidly expanding resume, as he's in serious talks to star as Ares in Wrath of the Titans, the sequel to last year's Clash of the Titans.
He'll be starring alongside the returning Sam Worthington, Ralph Fiennes, and Liam Neeson. You might recall previous rumors regarding the possibility of James Franco and Javier Bardem joining as well, but I still consider this EXTREMELY unlikely, as they'd only be bit players. The rumor was that Bardem was up for the role of Ares, so his participation now is obviously very much in doubt. Jonathan Liebesman(Battle: Los Angeles) is on board to direct, with a release date of March 30th 2012 already set in stone.
