Trailer Time: Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules

Diary of a Wimpy Kid is one of those movies that didn't go unnoticed in theaters last year, but it didn't exactly set the world on fire, either. Basically if you were a fan of the Jeff Kinney children's books, then you probably saw it and were happy with the end result. I didn't love it, but found it's depiction of middle school(still the most pointless thing ever!) and the struggles to NOT be a loser pretty funny. In particular I loved the main character's loyal but socially embarassing best friend, Rowley(Robert Capron).

The sequel was greenlit even before it was confirmed that the first film was a success(which it was by far). The film, titled Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules, is set to be released on March 25th 2011. It's based on the second book in the series, and focuses mainly on Greg's(Zachary Gordon) efforts to withstand the many tortures of his older brother, Rodrick(Devon Bostick).

Fox has released a brand new trailer for the sequel, and it looks almost exactly like the first film. It doesn't even appear that any of the kids have aged a friggin' day.  The only thing missing? Chloe Moretz, who had one of her usual standout bit performances as an older student trying to guide Greg through the numerous social hurdles.  Maybe her character wasn't in the book, but her presence I'm sure will be missed.  Check out the trailer for Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules below!
