Joseph Gordon-Levitt officially joins The Dark Knight Rises; Juno Temple next to sign?
Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been a part of the talk surrounding The Dark Knight Rises since the very beginning. From the start, people had him pegged as being The Riddler, then Alberto Falcone, Hugo Strange, Deadshot, any number of Bat-villains. The funny thing is, he hadn't signed a darn thing yet, so it was all just speculation and rumor. Last month he finally entered talks to join Christopher Nolan's final Bat-flick, and now Variety reports he's officially signed on.
So he's on board, but we still don't know who he'll play. I don't like him for Deadshot, a much older, bulkier villain. He'd be better in a mastermind type role. I'm holding out hope for The Riddler, but I doubt it.
The more intriguing bit of news to me is the possible addition of Juno Temple(Year One) to the cast. The story notes she'd be up for the role of a "street smart Gotham girl", so she probably won't be a major factor. Temple has been on a hot streak lately, with roles in Atonement, Greenberg, and Dirty Girl adding to her profile. She can be seen right now in the Gregg Araki comedy, Kaboom.
