Sure Shots: Shia Labeouf; Alex Cross; Abraham Lincoln:Vampire Hunter
* I know Joe Hill as the writer of the Locke & Key comic book, but he's probably most famous for being Stephen King's son. Quite a legacy to live up to, but Joe's done a bang up job so far, and now one of his novels is set to go to the big screen just like Daddy's always do. Shia Labeouf has just signed on to star in Horns, Hill's story about a guy who wakes up find that he's sprouted horns on his head. He uses them and the abilities they posess to uncover the truth about his girlfriend's murder.
* Ever since Tyler Perry was named as the guy to replace Morgan Freeman as Alex Cross(Kiss the Girls, Along Came a Spider), I have a hard time taking the movie seriously. Part of me doesn't even want to cover it, but I will soldier on! Deadline reports that two big names have been added to the Rob Cohen directed mystery I, Alex Cross: Matthew Fox(Lost) will be Michael Sullivan, the brutal villain in the film; and Ed Burns(Confidence) as Cross's partner, Tommy Kane.
* One of my favorite character actors and all around funny guy, Alan Tudyk, has joined the cast of Timur Bekmambetov's Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. He'll be playing one of this country's controversial figures, Senator Stephen Douglas. Unlike those idiots at Fox News, I know that it was Stephen Douglas and not Frederick Douglass who engaged in the famous Lincoln-Douglas Debates regarding slavery and the future path of the country.
