The Big Bang looks like a film that either going to love or want to back over in my car. Antonio Banderas makes for an unconventional hard boiled detective, hired by a client(ex-WWE wrestler Kurrgan!!) to find a missing stripper. The job puts him face-to-face with a number of wacky characters, nearly all of whom end up dead not long after.
The film was directed by Tony Krantz, who I'm not familiar with, and written by Erik Jendresen. The draw is clearly the offbeat cast: Sam Elliott wearing a wig that makes him look like a hippie, Snoop Dogg as a filmmaker, William Fichtner, Bill Duke, Delroy Lindo, and James Van Der Beek looking like he's still stuck in The Rules of Attraction
mode. I can dig it. What I don't like? What starts out looking like a film noir thriller turns into something totally unrecognizable. Are there some science fiction elements in there, too? That chick's boobies just lit up. I just don't know what to make of it. Check out the trailer below, and maybe you can help me figure it out. Do you think The Big Bang looks any good at all?
