Some women I know(and a few dudes) would say that Bradley Cooper is so unnaturally attractive that he's either an angel or he made a deal with the Devil for his good looks. If director Alex Proyas(Knowing) gets his way, Cooper would be falling squarely on the side of evil as the Lucifer in his big screen, 3D adaptation of Paradise Lost. Variety reports the news of the potential deal, noting that no talks are underway as of yet. This sounds like another one of those roles Cooper is lobbying hard for, the same way he lobbied for a part in The Great Gatsby.
Paradise Lost will be based on John Milton's epic 17th century poem, which depicts the temptation and fall of Adam and Eve, as well as the fierce struggle between the angels Michael and Lucifer. The story recounts the war over Heaven, between the faithful angels and Satan's forces. Geez, talk about high concept stuff. Not that Proyas is any stranger to this kind of film. Knowing dealt with a lot of big ideas, and while most would say the results were mixed, I thought it was one of the better movies of 2009 and extremely thoughtful in it's approach. Can he do the same with Paradise Lost? Only time will tell.
