People you've actually heard of cast as Cato and Clove in The Hunger Games
It was starting to become an arduous task keeping track of all the unknown kiddies cast as Tributes in Gary Ross's adaptation of The Hunger Games. Every day it was two more folks staring at us with names like "Tribute Boy" and "Tribute Girl". If that doesn't tell you all you need to know about their fate in the film then I don't know what will. But there were two Tributes left to be cast, and with the exception of Katniss Everdeen(Jennifer Lawrence), Peeta Mellark(Josh Hutcherson), and possibly Rue(Amandla Stenberg), these were the most important: District 2's Clove and Cato. It was necessary to get two recognizable faces to play them, and that's exactly what we got as Alexander Ludwig(Race to Witch Mountain) and Isabelle Fuhrman(Orphan) have been cast.
Clove and Cato are two of the most powerful foes of Katniss and Peeta in the Hunger Games, an annual competition which pits two dozen teens against each other in mortal combat. Labeled "Careers" because they were born and bred to compete, they take an almost sadistic pleasure in killing. They come from District 2, one of the staunchest allies of the ruling Capitol, and thus better off than the other Districts.
Ludvig got his biggest break in 2007 as the star of another young adult novel adaptation, The Seeker: The Dark is Rising. He starred in Disney's Race to Witch Mountain and will be seen next in Final Destination 5. Fuhrman made her film debut in the controversial Dakota Fanning drama, Hounddog, but is best recognized as the worst adoptee ever in 2009's Orphan.
So that wraps up all the Tributes, but a number of adult roles are yet to be filled. This thing ain't over yet! I'm still holding out hope that Lenny Kravitz will be cast as Cinna, Katniss's stylist.
The Hunger Games is due to open on March 23rd 2012.
