Hailee Steinfeld finds her boytoy as Douglas Booth joins Romeo & Juliet

This upcoming millionth adaptation of Romeo & Juliet is an odd nut. On the directing side it's sorely lacking, with Carlo Carlei at the helm. Carlei's most notable film to date was Fluke, the sorta creepy story about the human reincarnated as a dog. Yet on the writing side there's Julian Fellowes, who has made a nitch for himself with fantastic period pieces like Gosford Park, Vanity Fair, and The Young Victoria. True Grit stand out Hailee Steinfeld is set to star as Juliet, with this her first big follow-up. Now we know who'll be playing her lovelorn beau, and it's up 'n comer Douglas Booth.

Booth is probably best known for his television work at this point, appearing on the Starz series, The Pillars of the Earth. He'll be featured in the Miley Cyrus romantic comedy, LOL. No, that's not me laughing at her getting another starring role after The Last Song. That's the actual title: LOL.

Holly Hunter is on board to play the Nurse, while Ed Westwick(J. Edgar) is set for Tybalt. Shooting kicks off this summer. [Variety]
