Sure Shots: Jimi Hendrix; Pirates of the Caribbean 5; Adam Sandler lends voice to Hotel Transylvania

* Getting the rights to make a film on pretty much any famous dead celebrity is difficult enough. Throw in a life as wild as Jimi Hendrix and it's damn near impossible. Just ask Paul Greengrass. While my favorite of the few Hendrix films out there remains 1973's A Film About Jimi Hendrix, another one has long been in development with Outkast's Andre Benjamin(Idlewild, Four Brothers) up for the role of the legendary rocker. Speaking with Esquire, Hayley Atwell(Captain America: The First Avenger) says she's eyeing a role in the film, which may be coming up sooner rather than later. No word on who she'd play, but possibly Hendrix's final girlfriend, Monika Dannemann? Then again she could be any one of thousands of notches on his bedpost.

* Despite Johnny Depp's posturing, Disney never had any doubt there'd be a fifth Pirates of the Caribbean film. That's why they hired regular writer Terry Rossio to get to work on it way back in January. Now with On Stranger Tides reaching the unthinkable $1B(with a "B"!!!) mark, The Wrap reports that Depp is closer to signing on. He had previously stated it was all about the script, but...it's really all about the cash in the end. It always is. Speaking of which, he's reportedly made like $350M off these stupid movies now.

* It's Grown Ups all over again! A pretty cool voice cast featuring Adam Sandler, David Spade, Kevin James, Fran Drescher, Steve Buscemi, Cee Lo Green, and Andy Samberg are lending their voices to 3D animated monster comedy, Hotel Transylvania. The film is directed by Genndy Tartakovsky, a Cartoon Network vet who helmed the only good version of Star Wars: Clone Wars.  The light family laugher will take place at Dracula's home, now a hotel, where the patrons are a who's who of classic movie monsters.
