Sure Shots: The Wolverine; Shawn Levy; Tom Wilkinson

* Wolverine may be the toughest X-man around but his movie sequel is getting battered from pillar to post. Another body blow to The Wolverine comes as the proposed November start date is looking like it's getting pushed back until the spring of 2012 so that Hugh Jackman can shuffle and sing in Tom Hooper's Les Miserables first. Sounds like the schedule on that one has been moved up a few months. James Mangold(3:10 to Yuma) recently replaced Darren Aronofsky as director of the superhero sequel. [Deadline]

* Just last week we learned that Shawn Levy and 20th Century Fox were having some disagreements on the future of his Fantastic Voyage remake. Levy reportedly wanted an A-list star to front it, and had planned some sort of meeting with Will Smith to lure him into the film. Maybe that didn't turn out so hot, because the news now is that Levy may put Voyage on the backburner for awhile in order to direct one of a million versions of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein on the horizon. This one will be scripted by Max Landis, son of director John Landis. [Deadline]

* So much for that odd pairing of Kevin James and Emily Watson. After being reported the two would be starring in the WWII set indie film, Little Boy, it's looking like James may be out of the picture. At least Variety failed to mention him in their story regarding the addition of Tom Wilkinson to the cast. Alejandro Monteverde is directing, with the film centering on an 8 year old boy dealing with the ramifications of his father being shipped off to war. Ben Chaplin co-stars, with shooting having begun this week in Mexico. [Variety]
