Zoe Saldana is convinced she's the next great action heroine. And maybe she's right, between The Losers
and Colombiana, I'm betting a lot of guys have her poster hanging on their wall right now. She's got a long way to go to be Angelina Jolie, though. We havent' really seen Saldana stretch herself, though, and that could be a problem in the future if she gets pigeon holed as merely a hot chick with a sweet roundhouse kick. Look what that reputation did for Kelly Hu and Maggie Q.Her next film sees her branching out a little bit, at least behind the scenes. She's set to produce and star in Dominion, some sort of supernatural thriller with her playing a half-human, half-angel. Well that doesn't sound very good, but I'll wait to hear more before passing too much judgement.
Dean McCreary and Chester Hastings drew this one up. The duo's writing credits aren't going to impress anybody, although one could be interesting. They wrote a film called You're My Angel, which I don't think anybody will ever see. And then there's Fanboy, a comedy short about a video store clerk and Sam Raimi fan, featuring Raimi himself and J.K. Simmons...as themselves. How about making a full length version of that instead?[THR]
