More returnees(and some newcomers) join Resident Evil: Retribution

At this point I'm convinced there's some sort of cloning storyline developing in Paul W.S. Anderson's Resident Evil: Retribution, the fifth(!!?) adaptation of the popular Capcom video game franchise. Too many of the film's zombified and laser beamed victims are coming back for another go'round, and now you can add one more to the list as the cast is fully rounded into shape.  Deadline reports that Oded Fehr, who played Umbrella Corp. soldier Carlos Olivera in the 2nd and third films, is back to reprise his role. Kevin Durand(Legion), and Johann Urb(2012) have signed on as well.

Olivera was last seen sacrificing his own life to save that of Alice(Milla Jojovich) and the rest of her crew at the end of Resident Evil: Extinction. Durand and Urb are newcomers, with Urb playing the leader of a Resistance group working alongside Alice in her quest to destroy Umbrella.  They join the returning Jojovich, Michelle Rodriguez, Sienna Guillory, Boris Kodjoe, Shawn Roberts, and Colin Salmon.

Durand makes for an awesome bad guy, so I hope that's what he'll be doing here. He gives a particularly scummy performance in Real Steel opposite Hugh Jackman, so be sure to check that out.

Resident Evil: Retribution is set to open on September 14th 2012.
