Terrible Entertainment Weekly cover image for The Avengers

People have been bashing the hell out of the latest Entertainment Weekly cover image for The Avengers. It's pretty bad, but hardly the worst we've seen this year. The problem is that this seems to be a recurring issue for superhero movies this year. X-men: First Class had some of the most amateurish photo images I've ever seen. Green Lantern got hit with some pretty bad ones, too. So what's the deal? Why hasn't somebody's head rolled for putting crap like this out? Where the hell did they snag that woefully out of place pic of Mark Ruffalo?? Is Thor rolling his eyes or preparing to blast off? Where'd they get that Jeremy Renner mugshot? TMZ strikes again.

As anybody who has read even a single issue of The Avengers knows, the team may be comprised of some of the world's most powerful heroes,  but they aren't all friends. There have always been beefs between Captain America and Hawkeye, Iron Man and Thor. So when we get hints from the actors that "Egos, tempers, uneasy alliances and bad attitudes are threatening the group, and failure would be catastrophic" it's not much of a surprise. There's some stuff in there about Whedon rewriting the script in a bit of rush while filming, but that's a non-story in my opinion.

The Avengers will be directed by Joss Whedon, and stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy renner, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, Clark Gregg, Tom Hiddleston, and Cobie Smulders. The Avengers will impose it's box office will on us all starting May 4th 2012.
