Janie Jones is actually a pretty famous name if you pay attention to the Brit rock music scene. Jones was a former pop singer and renowned madame in London during the 1970s, caught up in a scandal in which she and her girls offered sex for radio airplay to the BBC. The Clash also based a song on her titled...you guessed it...Janie Jones. Jones would appear in the music video for the song. The new film by David Rosenthal(See This Movie) has nothing to do with any of that that, although it would make for a pretty cool movie.
Janie Jones(Abigail Breslin) is a young girl abandoned by her drugged out groupie mom(Elisabeth Shue) in the care of her supposed father, the fading rock star Ethan Brand(Alessandro Nivola). The film details his attempts to curb his hard partying, hard drinking ways while on the road with his daughter, and I'm guessing there'll be something of a mystery surrounding Janie's actual parentage. I'm curious to know if that's Breslin actually singing in this clip. If it's her she's not too bad. The film will hit theaters and On Demand on October 28th. Check out the trailer below..
