Dominic Purcell to play fallen angel Moloch in Paradise Lost
Alex Proyas' special effects heavy, big budget adaptation of John Milton's Paradise Lost continues to go full speed ahead, with something like two years worth of production set to kick off early next year. It's a staggering length of time, but it goes to show just how much of a spectacle Proyas is planning for the epic war between Heaven and Hell, with angels locked in pitched aerial dogfights like something out of Top Gun. No kidding.
THR reports that Dominic Purcell has joined the impressive cast, set to play the fallen angel Moloch. Moloch is the right hand man of Lucifer(Bradley Cooper), and in the book gives a rousing speech in favor of mortal combat against the forces of Heaven. Purcell is probably best known for the years he spent starring in the FOX series, Prison Break, but to me he'll always be the worst dracula ever presented on screen in Blade Trinity. He also popped up in Rod Lurie's recent remake of Straw Dogs.
Along with Purcell and Cooper, the film stars Benjamin Walker as the angel Michael; Djimon Hounsou as the archangel Abdiel; Casey Affleck as Gabriel; Callan McAuliffe as Uriel; and Diego Boneta and Camilla Belle circling the roles of Adam and Eve.
