Rose McGowan to star in romantic thriller, Napa

It may have been hard to see but yes that was Rose McGowan underneath all that make-up in this summer's blood soaked dud, Conan the Barbarian. Lately her choices in movies has been unorthodox to say the least, making her the go-to gal for B-movie exploitation. I dig it, actually, and have loved her in both Grindhouse flicks, and Machete as well. It's just not often we get to see her headline anything, so when it happens I'm going to stand up and take notice.

Variety reports that McGown is set to star in the romantic thriller, Napa, from first-time director Michael Kerr. Kerr co-wrote the script with Hans Ostrom, based on Ostrom's own novel Three to Get Ready. McGowan will play Scarlett Harding, a woman who returns home to Napa and given the job of sheriff after serving three tours in Afghanistan.

McGowan just recently wrapped filming of The Pastor's Wife, a television movie about the real life case of convicted killer, Mary Winkler.
