Sam Reid, who will be playing the Earl of Essex in Roland Emmerich's Shakespeare conspiracy flick, Anonymous, has joined the cast of Paradise Lost. Alex Proyas(Knowing) is directing the big budget adaptation of John Milton's epic poem, detailing the fall of Man and Satan's war against Heaven.
Reid will play Raphael, an angel sent by God to warn Adam and Eve abut Satan's plans to curse them. He was also less trusting that Lucifer could be redeemed, and warned Michael to be cautious. Ever protective of Man, he reveals to Adam the war against Heaven and the Earth's creation.
