Sure Shots: Ben Stiller; Taken 2; Percy Jackson
* Is Russell Brand's star fading? See, that's what happens when you finally get your own lead role and it turns out like the Arthur remake did. Now he's been replaced as the star of Rentaghost by Ben Stiller. Rentaghost is based on a popular BBC series which ran from 1976-1984, about a newly deceased ghost named Fred Mumford, who starts a business allowing other ghosts to be rented out by the living. Once housed at Warner Brothers, 20th Century Fox now has the film rights. Night at the Museum scribes Tom Lennon and Robert Ben Garant wrote the script. [Deadline]
* Nobody wants another Die Hard, but there isn't much crying going on over the sequel to Taken. Olivier Megaton(Columbiana) is directing the film, which will bring back Liam Neeson to hopefully not break a hip while kicking some poor guy's ass. Taken 2 finally has a release date, set to open next year on October 5th.
* Considering there's been almost zero talk about it, you might be surprised to know there will indeed be a sequel to Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. Starring Logan Lerman in the youthful Greek mythology franchise, look for Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters to hit theaters on March 27th 2013. I think Fox missed the boat on this one. By the time 2013 rolls around it'll have been three years since the last one, which only barely made a dent earning $220M worldwide.
