Sure Shots: Django Unchained; The Last Stand; Zoolander 2

* You'll probably recognize M.C. Gainey as Tom Friendly,  the largest, most inappropriately named member of The Others on the hit series Lost. Gainey has now entered talks for a smaller role in Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained. He would play Big John Brittle, one of a trio of brothers who first sold off Django(Jamie Foxx) and his wife Brumhilda. Gainey would join a cast that currently includes Leonardo Dicaprio, Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Dennis Christopher, Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Gerald McRaney, and Laura Cayouette. Michael K. Williams also reportedly has a role written for him, although it has yet to be confirmed. [Variety]

* Zach Gilford, probably best recognized for playing quarterback Matt Saracen(such a cool sounding name) on Friday Night Lights, will be taking on a few bad apples in The Last Stand. Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as a small town sheriff trying to stop an escaped drug lord from reaching the Mexico border, the film marks the english language debut of South Korean director Kim Ji-Woon(I Saw the Devil). Peter Stormare and Rodrigo Santoro will co-star, with a release date set for January 18th 2013.[Deadline]

* There's no guarantee we're going to get that long awaited sequel to Zoolander. Paramount's killed it before, then ultimately revived it with a script by star Ben Stiller and Justin Theroux turned in awhile back. We haven't hear much since, but while discussing his new bird watching comedy The Big Year, Owen Wilson, who played uber-model Hansel in the film, revealed that Hansel will have suffered a terrible injury in the years that have passed...

Wilson: “Hansel, he’s fallen on hard times,” There’s been a disfiguring injury.” What kind of injury? Well, Wilson leaves to the imagination only saying, “Think ‘Vanilla Sky.”

The Hansel I remember probably would've taken a long walk off a short pier rather than be "ugly" even for an instant, but maybe that'll factor into the many changes the characters have gone through. What we know is that the story will take place ten years after the last film. Jonah Hill will reportedly play the villain, and Will Ferrell will return as the evil Mugatu.  [MTV]
