Trailer Time: Fancypants, starring Patrick Gleason and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper

Ok, so the only reason I'm posting this is because it stars "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, former WWF legend and not too shabby of an actor from time to time. Whatever it takes to keep him out of the ring, even if that means starring in movies like this. Fancypants is the story of a professional wrestler(Patrick Gleason) who is afraid of real life conflict. With his career nearing an end, he forges a bond with the last fan he has left, an 8-year old boy hiding a secret that will change his life.

Written and directed by Joshua Russell, the film shot in Chicago on shoe string budget. Although it doesn't look too much different than some of the stuff we've seen from WWE Studios of late, namely Legendary. Richard Kind(A Serious Man), Robert Carradine(Revenge of the Nerds), Nick Turturro(NYPD Blue), Amy Hendricks, and newcomer Jackson Dunn. Check out the trailer for Fancypants below...

So Piper probably isn't going to have a hit on his hands the caliber of They Live, and to be honest the trailer looks mushy as hell. I'm not sure if this aiming to be a poor man's version of The Wrestler or what. The film opened in Chicago a couple of days ago, but if you want more details on further locations you can check out the Facebook page.
