Trailer Time: Red Tails, starring Terrence Howard and David Oyelowo


So maybe I should've watched the SCREAM Awards afterall? Lucasfilm and George Lucas debuted the latest trailer for Red Tails, the high flying action spectacle based on the story of the Tuskegee Airmen, the first all African-American aviators in our military's history.

This has been Lucas' baby for a long time, developing it since the late 80s and intending for it to come out back in 1992. Obviously that didn't work out, and he tapped John Ridley(along with The Boondocks' Aaron McGruder) to hammer out a final script. After first wanting Samuel L. Jackson to direct and star in the film, Anthony Hemingway(The Wire) got the job.

Lucas' touch is all over the intense dogfighting scenes, which should be the film's bread 'n butter, because I have no idea if there is a central story to be played out. The few bits of dialogue don't provide a lot of information, so I'm left to believe this'll be mostly about the action. That works for me. Check out the new Red Tails trailer below...
