Had enough Bradley Cooper lately? Tough, because dude is going to be everywhere over the next year or two. Along with Alex Proyas' Paradise Lost, David O. Russell's The Silver Linings Playbook, and Dax Shepard's Outrun, Cooper has a couple of films lined up that should open in just a few months, with the first images of him in both being released.
The first is The Words, from Tron: Legacy scribes Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal in their directing debut. Cooper plays a popular writer who, at the top of his success, discovers the price to be paid for stealing another author's work. Zoe Saldana, Jeremy Irons, Olivia Wilde, Ben Barnes, and JK Simmons co-star. In this image the lucky bastiche is seen shackin' up with Saldana...
And fresh off the first official shot of Ryan Gosling looking like an extra on Sons of Anarchy comes this image of Cooper dressed in his police blues as part of The Place Beyond the Pines. Derek Cianfrance(Blue Valentine) is directing the film, a multi-generational story about a stunt racer turned bank robber(Gosling) who runs afoul of a cop turned politician(Cooper), sparking a family rivalry that lasts for years. Ray Liotta, Rose Byrne, Eva Mendes, Ben Mendelsohn, Max Martini, Emory Cohen, and Dane DeHaan co-star.
It's been a stellar 2010 already for Cooper, with both Limitless and The Hangover Part II certifiable box office hits. I'm diggin' the way he's used the momentum from those flicks to land diverse roles in films that should take his career in a totally different direction.
