When Eddie Murphy was announced to be hosting the upcoming Academy Awards, it along with his presumed return to form in Tower Heist led caused a number of changes to his schedule with studios looking to cash in on his sudden popularity. One of the movies affected was the long shelved comedy, A Thousand Words, in which Murphy plays a loud mouth who pisses off some magical guy(Cliff Curtis) and is cursed to die after he speaks his 1000th word.
Ironically, the less said about A Thousand Words the better. Directed by Brian Robbins(Norbit), it was completed more than two years ago and was set to be released last January, until it got pushed to March 23rd 2012 to help cash in on Murphy's Oscar buzz. So it can't be a coincidence that a day after Murphy stepped down from hosting the show, here we are with this crappy new trailer. Kerry Washington, Clark Duke, and Jack McBrayer co-star.
