Trailer Time: 'The Hunter', starring Willem Dafoe and Frances O'Connor

Looking like a distant cousin to Liam Neeson's The Grey comes the trailer for The Hunter, another man vs. nature thriller that has a lot more going on than it appears. Based on the novel by Julia Leigh, who has recently sprung into the Hollywood spotlight with last year's Sleeping Beauty, the film features Willem Dafoe as Martin, a hunter set out to track down the last remaining Tasmanian tiger. Long thought extinct, rumors of sightings have sparked renewed interest, but Martin isn't in it just to prove his superiority as a predator. He's in it for more mysterious reasons, and when a local stranger discovers Martin's intent, the expedition turns even deadlier than he could've imagined.

The Australian film is produced by the guys behind Animal Kingdom, written and directed by Daniel Nettheim. This one looks pretty intense, and I love the idea of two snarling veterans like Dafoe and Sam Neill going at it. The Hunter will be available On Demand and Itunes on March 2nd, with a theatrical roll out a month later. Check out the new trailer below....
