Kyle Chandler joins Kathryn Bigelow's team in the hunt to 'Kill Bin Laden'

Those who might have worried that Friday Night Lights paternal heartthrob, Kyle Chandler, would disappear with the show's cancellation needn't have worried. Not only has he been busier than ever, turning up in JJ Abrams' Super 8, and landing a lead role in Ben Affleck's hostage drama, Argo, but now he's set to join the hunt for Osama Bin Laden as part of Kathryn Bigelow's upcoming film.

Deadline reports that Chandler will play a CIA agent in the ensemble(possibly titled Kill Bin Laden), which already features an amazing cast with Jessica Chastain, Edgar Ramirez, Mark Strong, Joel Edgerton, Jason Clarke, and Chris Pratt. While we've mostly been thinking of this is an action movie, chronicling Seal Team Six's hunt for the terrorist leader, it appears the script by Mark Boal may be going in a different direction., taking more of a crime procedural approach. It makes sense, as Boal and Bigelow's Award winning hit, The Hurt Locker, was about as unconventional a military film as it gets. Boal, who had been tracking the unit that ultimately caught and killed Bin Laden, made some pretty significant changes to the script in the wake of their success.

In the meant time, douchebag politicians with a partisan chip on their shoulder continue to look for scandals where there are none(yeah you, Peter King!!), so Sony has done the right thing by holding off on the film's release until December 19th.
