Trio of cool motion posters for 'The Hunger Games'!
Ohhhhh, Gary Ross and co. are getting The Hunger Games exactly right. Not only with the casting and look, but with the clever marketing campaign emphasizing the celebrity obsessed culture at the heart of the story. We've seen it already in the trailers and in some of the posters, which make the brutal Hunger Games competition look like versions of The Running Man, and now it's here again in a handful of slick new motion posters.
For those who may be unfamiliar with Suzanne Collins wildly popular novels, The Hunger Games takes place in a future version of North America where each year a boy and girl from each town is forced to fight to the death in a competition that is broadcast across the nation. Jennifer Lawrence stars as Katniss Everdeen, a strong willed girl from one of the poorest areas, who volunteers for the Games to save her younger sister. Josh Hutcherson is Peeta Mellark, another combatant who shares a long and mysterious history with Katniss. If you haven't read the books yet, I guarantee they aren't what you expect.
The below posters feature Cinna(Lenny Kravitz), Katniss' mentor/stylist who skillfully molds her rebellious image to amazing effect. Stanley Tucci is Caesar Flickerman, who is sorta like Regis Philbin meets Richard Dawson. And Wes Bentley as Seneca Crane, the Head Gamemaker for the 74th Hunger Games.
March 23rd is rapidly approaching, so expect the marketing blitz to continue!
