1st look at Russell Crowe as Inspector Javert in 'Les Miserables'
Just a few days after receiving our first look at a disheveled Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean on the set of Tom Hooper's Les Miserables, now we're treated to Russell Crowe as his nemesis, Inspector Javert. The image shows Crowe riding horseback and looking deadly serious, as usual. I'm curious to hear how Crowe handles the musical aspects, because unfortunately I've never had the opportunity to hear him with either of the rock bands he's been a part of.
Les Miserable is based on Victor Hugo's 19th century novel and hit Broadway musical. Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Sacha Baron Cohen, Eddie Redmayne, Aaron Tveit, Samantha Barks, and Helena Bonham Carter will co-star when the film opens on December 14th. [TheDailyMail]
PLOT: Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption–a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. Jackman plays ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert (Crowe) after he breaks parole. When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine’s (Hathaway) young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever.
