Jessica Lange to star in 'Therese Raquin', replacing Glenn Close

Any chance for more Jessica Lange is a good thing. How great is she? She's basically taking over the next season of FX's American Horror Story, a role for which she earned a Golden Globe victory for Best Supporting Actress. Movie-wise we don't get to see nearly enough of her veteran presence, with the most recent being her small but powerful performance in The Vow. Now she's stepping in for another acclaimed actress as part of an adaptation of Emile Zola's Therese Raquin.

First reported last week but not really confirmed until today by EW, Lange will step in for the departing Glenn Close in the film to be directed by Charlie Stratton. Elizabeth Olsen stars as Therese, a woman in a loveless marriage to the sickly and inattentive Camille, played by Tom Felton. The recently cast Oscar Isaac is Laurent, Camille's best friend and Therese's lover who conspires with her to kill her husband. Lange plays Camille's mother, Madame Raquin,

Filming on Therese Raquin will begin soon.
