Paul Rudd may join Tina Fey in 'Admission'

We all love Paul Rudd, right? He generally makes every comedy a little bit better than it has any right to be, and is one of the most likable actors around. That said, what was the last really good Rudd movie? Think about it. Probably I Love You, Man back in 2009. So it's been something of a dry spell, which certainly didn't come to the end after Wanderlust came and went with nobody caring.

Every new film is a chance to turn the tide, though, and if all the chips fall into place he may be joining Tina Fey in the promising new dramedy, Admission.  Directed by Paul Weitz(American Dreamz) and based on the book by Jean Hanff Korelitz, Fey would play Portia Nathanson, a Princeton admissions officer who enters into a relationship with a teenage prospect that throws her life upside down.

About a week ago it was reported that Owen Wilson was circling the male lead, a colleague from an alternative school who falls for Portia. 24 Frames says the studio is now looking at Rudd to fill that role, and he appears to be interested.

The combination of Fey and Rudd is a comedy dream time by practically any measure, but this doesn't sound like a traditional laugher by any means. We may get a chance to see Rudd, and Fey for that matter, do something different for the first time in years.
