Revealing new trailer for Sacha Baron Cohen's 'The Dictator'!
Sacha Baron Cohen has been pretty quiet since his antics at the Academy Awards, where he showed up as General Aladeen and spilled an urn full of Kim Jong-Il ashes all over Ryan Seacrest and caused a minor scandal. As far as self-promotion goes for his next film, The Dictator, it was brazen and ultimately successful. While it is still a touch too similar to Borat in appearance, the latest trailer may force people to look at it in a different way.
The latest international trailer basically turns the story we've heard so far on its ear. Yes, it still features Cohen as the murderous, comically vain leader of the fictional Republic of Wadaya, who comes to America to rub elbows with our country's leaders. There's more to it than that, though, and the trailer reveals a major plot twist that shows where the story is actually headed. Some people may be surprised, so if you're not afraid of seeing anything spoiled, feel free to watch.
Along with it, a hilarious batch of photos featuring Aladeen with a number of world leaders(and Hulk Hogan) have been released. Who knew Ahmadinejad dug Cheetos? Ben Kingsley, John C. Reilly, Megan Fox, Anna Faris, and Aasif Mandvi will co-star when Th Dictator opens on May 11th. Check out the trailer, and the images below....
