Trailer Time: 'Himitsu no Akko-chan'
What better way for Fujio Akatsuka to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his pioneering manga, Himitsu no Akko-chan, than with its first live-action film? Created back in 1962, Himitsu no Akko-chan laid the groundwork for other magical girl manga and anime like Sailor Moon, where the lead characters are granted special powers usually from a mysterious object.
Directed by Yasuhiro Kawamura and starring Masaki Okada, the story follows elementary school aged Akko-Chan, a girl who loves mirrors and receives a magical compact from the mirror spirit. It allows her to change into literally anything and anyone she chooses.
A new 30-second teaser has been released prior to the film's opening on September 1st...
