Trailer Time: 'Sound of My Voice', starring Brit Marling
A month after revealing the first twelve, incredibly engrossing minutes of Sound of My Voice, the first real trailer has been released, and it only serves to deepen the mystery further. Much in the same way Elizabeth Olsen broke out of the festival circuit with two powerful performances, Brit Marling did much the same, only she had a hand on the creative side as well. She wrote, produced, and starred in Another Earth, which debuted last year to some acclaim. She does the same for Sound of My Voice, playing the charismatic Maggie, the leader of a cult that has been infiltrated by two investigative journalists looking to expose her.
Even though the trailer is only about 2 1/2 minutes long, it expands on that sense of foreboding so prevalent in the earlier footage, and we start to see some of the doubt about Maggie's authenticity starting to take hold. Sound of My Voice is set to open on April 27th....
