So today was the day every marketing house released posters for all of their upcoming films, eh? With the most recent one-sheet for On the Road featuring star, Sam Riley, the next has been released for Garrett Hedlund as Dean Moriarty, aka Jack Kerouac's friend Neal Cassady. Hedlund is the biggest question mark I have about the film, as the Cassady character is a charismatic figure who heavily influences the famed writer's perspective on America and life in general. Charisma hasn't been Hedlund's strongest card yet in his career, so we'll just have to wait and see how that plays out.
I also missed the release of the Kirsten Dunst poster, with the red hot actress playing Camille, aka Carolyn Cassady. She was Neal's wife and a close associate of Kerouac and the rest of the Beat Generation. That just leaves Kristen Stewart's poster as the last left to be revealed.
With Cannes on the horizon, it's expected that On the Road will be part of the line-up, and hopefully it'll pick up US distribution soon after.
