* Anton Chekhov's revered play, The Seagull, has been brought to the stage in numerous incarnations since the Russian legend first wrote it in 1895. Even Tennessee Williams used it as the basis for one of his plays, and the story was brought to the big screen by Sidney Lumet back in 1968. It's been awhile, though, and now a modern version is being brought to the big screen by actor turned director, Christian Camargo(The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn). Katie Holmes, Jean Reno, Allison Janney, William Hurt, and Russell Means will star in the film where one New England family's Memorial Day weekend leads to a volatile personality clash. [Variety]
* In a pretty lengthy interview with THR, Adam McKay revealed the entire backstory behind Anchorman 2, and how the project went from being stone cold dead to the movie that's on everybody's tongue right now. He also revealed a couple of tidbits, including that Vince Vaughn may be back as rival anchorman Wes Mantooth, and Christina Applegate should return which makes sense if the custody battle storyline McKay hinted at earlier comes to pass. As for when we might see the film in theaters? McKay says filming could begin early next year, with a release possibly in Christmas 2013 or as late as the following summer. That's a pretty wide margin, isn't it?
