Trailer Time: 'Oslo, August 31st', directed by Joachim Trier


That last name look familiar? Trier? Yeah, Joachim Trier is the nephew of eccentric and controversial director, Lars Von Trier, but he's done a pretty good job of getting out of his relative's shadow. Joachim earned raves and not a small amount of award recognition in 2006 for the kinetic Reprise, and after a bit of a wait he turned up on the festival circuit last year with Oslo, August 31st. That film, which features Reprise star, Anders Danielson Lie, follows 24 hours in the life of a suicidal drug addict out from rehab to attend a job interview.

The film has been racking up one fantastic review after another since last year's Cannes, and now it's finally getting a release date here on May 25th.  If it's anything like Reprise, we're in for a real treat of tough character study and gorgeously shot locales. Oslo? Yeah, it's kinda beautiful. Check out the trailer below...
