Ashley Greene will rock out as part of 'CBGB'

With filming on CBGB set to begin later this month, Randall Miller has been putting the pieces in place for his punk rock biopic at a rapid clip. The film tells the story of the CBGB(Country Bluegrass and Blues), the iconic New York City night club that became a fixture in the punk music scene before its doors were shut down in 2006. Alan Rickman will take on the role of Hilly Crystal, who ran the club for more than thirty years.  He's set to have a few clashes with Ashley Greene, who Variety reports has just joined the cast as Hilly's rebellious daughter, Lisa.

Lisa's part in the film will be more than just the occasional shouting match with her father. In real life she ends up helping her father run the CBGB as a business manager, all the way up until the end. She not only controls the CBGB estate, but she's actually listed as a producer on the film, so you know she had some input in casting Greene. Malin Akerman, Rupert Grint, Joel David Moore, Johnny Galecki, Taylor Hawkins, and Mickey Sumner make up a huge ensemble, with most playing major figures in the rock biz.

Greene will be seen in her most recognizable role of Alice Cullen in the second part of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn this November 16th. She also leads the horror flick, The Apparition(watch the  trailer here), which is due out this August.
