The Lifetime network is doing the right thing by releasing their own images of Lindsay Lohan and Grant Bowler channeling Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton for their new film, Liz & Dick. It immediately takes away much of the novelty, quieting the paparazzi who are hanging around snapping up every sellable photo they can find because...well, Lindsay Lohan sells magazines. Especially the dirt rags that are just waiting for her to fail, expecting that she'll turn up on set late in a drunken stupor.
Following up on the first image revealed just a couple of days ago, a pair of full color shots have been released, and frankly I don't think Bowler looks right at all. Lohan, on the other hand, more than captures the look of a young Taylor, and I love the glamorous outfits they've got her in. I expressed my concern that the relatively unknown Bowler didn't have the goods to play the charismatic Burton, and this doesn't change my mind a bit. Maybe the performance of both will change my mind.
Production is currently underway, although no air date has been set in stone.
