1st look at ED-209 from the 'Robocop' remake

It's a little early in the development of Jose Padilha's remake of Robocop, but that doesn't mean the early viral marketing can't get underway. The website, Omnicorp.com, is active now and already has some images and a product placement ad showing off the "the next generation of defensive products", which includes the ED-209, the aerial XT-908, and the RC-2000 which looks like the Robocop model.

From what we've heard in the past, it seems that Padilha is using much of the technology currently being employed and using that as a key part of his film, and clearly this country's use of drones to fight our wars is will come into play. In the below video, drone technology is for more than warfare, but for protection in the cities as well, so when they turn bad like all advanced robotics do in these movies, it's going to be extra disastrous.

So far so good. We likely won't be seeing Robocop at Comic-Con, but I'm digging everything we're getting up to this point. Joel Kinnaman, Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, Abbie Cornish, and Hugh Laurie will star when Robocop opens on August 9th 2013. [BleedingCool]
