After watching the end of Magic Mike, did anybody think it screamed for a sequel? Nah, me neither. Now, the women in the audience might disagree, as it means more of Channing Tatum thrusting his groin in all of our faces, but it felt like a pretty complete story. Apparently, Tatum thinks differently.
While talking with Glamour UK, Tatum rather enthusiastically responded in the positive when asked about a potential sequel...
Tatum: “Yes, yes and yes! We’re working on the concept now. We want to flip the script and make it bigger.”
Make it bigger? Like what? Stripping in Sun Life Stadium? Or are we talking more penis pump humor? It's possible that Tatum may not even be in a sequel, with the focus shifting to his buddies. Or, he could show up for a small role and move the plot along similar to what he did in Step Up 2.
For now, Magic Mike is still in theaters and chugging along towards $100M. Tatum is now moving on to star in the true crime film, Foxcatcher, and also has The Wachowski's Jupiter Ascending. And as we learned earlier, he'll produce and star in a biopic on Evel Knievel.
